For when thicker really is better
We really prefer the consistency of our thick whole milk yogurt to Greek style when it comes to everyday eating and smoothie making. But… we admit it, there are times when you need a very-thick version for making herb spreads, frostings, and sweetened dips for fruit.
Just remember to save and repurpose the super-healthful whey!
Greek Style Whole Yogurt
You will need:
Large bowl
Sieve or colander
Cheesecloth
Dinner plate
Ingredients
1 Quart Butterworks Whole Milk Yogurt
Instructions
Line a fine-mesh sieve with cheesecloth and place inside a large bowl.
Pour yogurt over cheesecloth and reposition the edges of the cheesecloth so that it covers the yogurt. Place dinner plate on top, to add weight to the yogurt.
Place in your refrigerator for 5 -10 hours.
The liquid at the bottom of the bowl is whey, which has many uses and can be kept in the refrigerator in a tightly-lidded jar for several weeks.
