Butterworks policy towards GMOs and rBGH

Butterworks is a real farm. We milk our own cows, and make Butterworks yogurt and cream from their milk. We do not use any hormones or antibiotics on our cows, and we do not treat any cows with rBGH or rBST. We believe that our cows can achieve their best potential through personal care and excellent nutrition. Being a small, individual farm, we can assure you that you are getting the highest quality products available because we do the whole process. We till healthy, organic soil to grow all the organic whole grains and forages for the cows, we milk the cows, and we process their organic milk into yogurt and cream. Through this attention to the whole farm organism, we achieve a healthy sustainable environment for all the life on the farm.

We are very concerned about the increasing presence of GMO food, feed, seed and ingredients in our country. As we produce our dairy products from the ground, up, growing the feed for the cows, processing their milk, and bringing the products to the stores, we are able to pay close attention to the inputs. Not only are we careful to use non-GMO seed to grow the crops, but we also check with neighboring farmers to ensure that there will not be GMO pollen drift contamination our fields. Our VOF organic certification also ensures our customers that our products and practices are GMO free.
